What kind of media institution might distribute your media product?

I think my magazine would be best suited to be published by IPC Media, because they produce a slightly similar magazine which is NME but don't already have publish anything that is a magazine based solely on Hip-Hop and R&B. Another reason why they should be the publisher for my magazine is because they are one of the UK's leading producers of magazines, which is necessary because my magazine is aimed at a nationwide audience, not just a local area, so one of the major publishers needs to be used that will have the ability to distribute the product to a large area. My magazine is similar institutionally to 'Hip-Hop Connection' and it has a vague resemblance to NME, because it includes more than one genre of music and trys to showcase new music and not older music. Both magazines have a large, nationwide distribution and are sold through very well know stores such as Tesco, Sainsburys and WH Smith. My magazine may however struggle, this is because the magazine industry at the moment isn't doing very well and not many magazines are able to keep running at the moment due to the advance in online technologies.

However, my magazine may have a strong influence online due to the advance in online technologies. I have added a website to every page, including the front page of my magazine which may help to attract a larger audience and could potentionally open open my magazine distribution up to allow me to have a market in other countries, such as the USA. My magazine could also use synergy tactics with other businesses such as Apple's iTunes Music Store, which my readership base has said that they use on a regular basis. This would bring my magazine more revenue, allow my magazine to be reached/seen by a larger audience and help to get its name out there. They could also sell their own merchandise, such as T-Shirts, mugs etc., as well as linking themselves to other business, for example they could have a connection to Kiss (the radio station and TV channel) which plays music that is all of the same genres that my readers listen too.
