C. An account of what I have learnt and what new skills I have developed as a result of the Preliminary Task

From doing the Preliminary task, I have learnt a lot of new skills that I used in my main task and can continue to use for other tasks. I have learnt a lot about photography, including focus, shot distances, framing, lighting and more. It has helped me in my music magazine as it has allowed me to use a range of different, high quality shots. I have also learnt how to use Photoshop efficently and correctly and learnt a lot about its various tools and funtions. Before doing the Preliminary task, I had never used Photoshop, but now I am confident in using it and can use it to create documents such as magazine front covers, but can also use it successfuly to manipulate photos, for example the picture on the front cover of my magazine has been heavily changed from the original. I have also learnt how to create a successful questionnaire to gather only the relevant information from my target audience. I have then been able to implement the results from my questionnaire into my work.
