1. My initial ideas for a new music magazine

My initial idea for a new music magazine was to create a magazine based on Hip-Hop. However, I changed my idea because my whilst doing research into the current music magazine market, I found that there was already a Hip-Hop magazine out there and avaliable to the public (Hip-Hop Connection), so I changed my idea to be a magazine based on Hip-Hop and R&B. I chose to do these two genres because most people that listen to Hip-Hop tend to listen to R&B and vice versa. Therefore I thought that I could exploit the gap in the market by creating a magazine for two similar genres with the same target audience. I have decided to feature two real artists in my magazine and to also include two artists/groups that I have made up that are going to be "up and coming". I did this because I want my magazine to only feature up-to-date music and new music that my readership should be excited for in the future, simply because my target audience are regularly purchasing and downloading new music so they will want to be up-to-date with all the latest songs coming out from their favourite genres.
