Since completing the preliminary task, I feel that I have learnt a lot in the progression of making the final finished product. I have learnt a lot about photography, including what props I need to use to make my fake band look similar to who they are meant to resemble, I have learnt about using bleeds (both off the page and into the title), I have also learnt a lot about how to use Photoshop to manipulate images; for example the picture on my front cover has been heavily manipulated to increase the quality of the image and to make it fit the house style of the magazine. I have also learnt a lot about how a magazine should be laid out; including how much writing is needed on the front cover, how to anchor the writing successfuly and how to layout areas of the magazine to succesfully attract readers attention, for example through the use of a pull quote. I have also learnt a lot about fonts from creating my music magazine, with having to ensure text is in the right place, right size and easy to read without being a mechanical barrier. My research has helped me a lot here. I used a copy of Hip-Hop Connection magazine to be my style template and tried to get my magazine to mimic it.
