What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Throughout the course, I have used different programs to help me create the final versions of the pages for the college magazine, music magazine and other documents such as the questionnaires. I have used Microsoft Word to create the questionnaires, I have used Blogger and Flickr to showcase my work and to store my evaluation questions and original images and market research in and I have used Adobe Photoshop to create the pages for the magazine and to manipulate my photos. When I started the preliminary task of the college magazine, I had no previous knowledge or experience with Photoshop. Since then, I have learnt a lot about how to use Adobe Photoshop effectively and how to make use of its various tools, including the magic wand tool, the gradient options, the blending options and much more and I now feel confident in using the program and I can use Photoshop effectivly for many different tasks. I spent a lot of time manipulating my photos that I used in the magazine. This shows the before and after pictures that I used for my front cover and double page spread:

I was able to use Photoshop to manipulate my photos to make them fit better with the magazine. I changed the colour of the clothing in the photo so it matched the house style of my magazine and I was able to remove the background so I could put it on the front cover of my magazine. I used Photoshop to help me lighten up the original image that I used on the front cover and to remove some of the blur and noise that was apparent in the original.
